During July and August, Common App pauses the application and makes changes. Element451 will stop all the scheduled imports from the external scheduler and work on template updates with Common App directly. If you have been using the integration between Element451 and Common App follow the steps below to go live with the next cycle:
- Returning partners will fill out a form to renew their interest in the integration.
- Common App will send an initial round of files Mid-August to Element451. Using the initial files, Element451 will run a script that compares the previously used layout to the new layout and apply the updates while retaining any custom fields and calculated field institutions may have added.
- An Element451 team member will reach out to the institution’s captain informing them that the new template is ready for updates and a review. Here is a tutorial on how to update and test your template.
- After updating, the partner will run a small sample of records through the import by hand. These records will be imported into a segment and shared with your team to review.
- After confirmation that the records are populated correctly, the Element451 team member will turn on the external scheduler and your Common App integration will be live!
