Please follow all of the steps below in order to ensure that the integration will work correctly. Skipping any step will cause delays in testing (and possibly development) which can negatively impact your overall progress in using Element successfully.

Setup an API key that Element can use to send/retrieve data from the Populi system.

We recommend setting up a UI access account that will allow our developers to log into Populi interface to double check configurations/review values needed for translation (you can use the email address: integrations+populi{school}@element451.com where {school} is your school’s abbreviation). While this step is optional, we recommend it to help make sure the integration does not stall out. If access is not provided, our developers may need to more often connect with someone from your school in order to validate/review items.

It is essential to send API credentials securely. Sending over plain text email is not secure and if done, we will request a new API key to be generated and sent in an encrypted fashion. If you do not have a way of transmitting the key in a secure fashion, please let the Integration staff assigned to your project know and they will send you an encrypted email that you can reply to with the API key. This email should contain the URL to your Populi instance, your API key and optionally the username/password for a UI account.
