Element451 → Ethos

When syncing emergency contacts from Element451 to Ethos, the following fields are included.

Exported Fields

• First Name and Last Name
  • Depending on the SIS configuration, these may be combined into a single Full Name field in Ethos
• Relationship / Relationship Type
  • Colleague: Sends the text value from the Relationship field
  • Banner: Sends the selected value from the Relationship Type field
• Is Primary (Colleague only)
  • Determines the contact type in Ethos:
    • Yes: Emergency Contact + Missing Person Contact
    • No: Emergency Contact only
• Phone
  • Only one phone number is sent due to Ethos requirements
  • Selection logic:
    • Cell phone is used if available
    • If not, home phone is used

Matching Behavior

Before creating a new emergency contact, Element451:

1. Retrieves existing emergency contacts from Ethos
2. Compares them to the contact record in Element451

• Matching is based on First Name + Last Name
• If a match is found:
  • The existing record is not updated (by default...an additional configuration can be enabled to allow this)
• If no match is found:
  • A new emergency contact is created

Sync Behavior

After an emergency contact is successfully created:

• Element451 does not update the record by default (this can be enabled if requested…see Updating Emergency Contacts below)
