Element451 → Ethos

When sending data to Banner via Ethos, additional processing may be required when the partner is has version 12 of /api/persons.

Due to a known Ellucian issue (PD0006931), version 12 does not support updating the SSN field.

Error returned:

• bannerUdcId cannot be created or updated through the persons entity

Integration Behavior

To address this limitation, Element451 uses a two-step process:

1. /api/persons (v12)
   • Used to update all standard person data
2. /api/persons (v8)
   • Called at the end of the process
   • Used specifically to update the SSN

This ensures that all person data, including SSN, is successfully written to Banner despite the limitation in version 12.
